Repair, replace or add guards — explained with photos.

03

Install

New gutters installed, coordinated with roof work if you need both.

04

Cleanup

Old material hauled away.

Before the work · Know what to discuss

Follow the water beyond the roof edge.

Describe where water spills, drips or collects and when it happens. A gutter project should consider the run, the downspout and the discharge location together. Photos from different sides of the home help explain the layout before an inspection.

Define the runs and outlets

Identify which gutter sections and downspouts are included in the proposed work. Discuss the intended discharge locations and any concerns near walkways or landscaping. Confirm sizes, colors and accessories in the written scope.

Compare guards realistically

If leaf protection is included, ask for the exact Shur Flo model or other selected product and its maintenance guidance. A guard choice should reflect the gutter layout and nearby debris. Avoid treating a product illustration as a promise that cleaning will never be needed.

Look at related work

Tell us if roofing, fascia, siding or painting is also planned. Coordinating the sequence can clarify who handles each adjoining item. Discuss what happens if a support area needs attention before new gutters can be installed.

Guards · What we install

Leaf protection that sits on top.

For leaf protection we install Shur Flo gutter guards by US Aluminum: perforated aluminum panels that fit on top of the gutter, without lifting your shingles. The exact model is confirmed for each project.

  1. 1

    Chimney flashing

Metal where the chimney meets the roof. Gaps, rust or failed sealant here are a common leak source.

  2. 2

    Pipe vents & penetrations

Rubber boots around pipes crack with age and sun. Hail can dent or split metal caps.

  3. 3

    Ridge

Ridge cap shingles cover the peak. We check for lifted, cracked or missing caps.

  4. 4

    Shingle field

The open slopes: hail bruising, granule loss, wind-creased shingles and general wear.

  5. 5

    Valley

Where two slopes meet, water runs heaviest. Worn or poorly cut valleys leak.

  6. 6

    Skylight flashing

Seals and step flashing around skylights — a frequent source of drips on the ceiling below.

  7. 7

    Eaves & gutters

Roof edges, drip edge and gutters. Dents on gutters and other metal can help document that hail hit the property.

Questions

Still unsure? Call (847) 730-4026 — or send a request below and we’ll call you.

Not automatically. If the gutters are in good shape and properly pitched, they can often stay; we’ll tell you which applies.

No guard is maintenance-free. Guards reduce debris build-up; how much depends on the trees around your home.

Hail marks on gutters can help document that a storm hit. Your insurer decides what is covered.

Describe where water overflows, where a gutter pulls away, or where you see a leak. Include the property address and note locked gates or other access restrictions.

It should identify the gutter runs and downspouts involved, the proposed repair or replacement, and the intended drainage route. Material selections belong in the project scope.

Tell us where the property is. A real person from our office calls you to confirm a time. Service: Gutters — already selected.

House number and street. We check it against U.S. Census address records before it is sent.
